I thought Birthright WASN’T bad. Sometimes I wonder if IS shouldn’t have relied on player choice and instead concentrate on one story.
I thought the concept of the main protagonist turning back on his adoptive family interesting and I kinda wish they made more members of Hoshidan family wary of Corrin
I thought the unit design of the Hoshidan units was less fantastical than the Nohrian one and it was nice to have different classes for once.
The maps were serviceable, the music fantastic
Going back on story yeah it’s basic but at least I wasn’t questioning Corrin decisions at every chapters (unlike Conquest...)
etc...
Really the problem of Fates is that it’s (more or less...) three games, so eventually you will find something you hate in one of the three. (Like boring map design, bad storytelling, excessive fan-service, etc...)
