A couple more Vegas tips:

The strip is long. It might look like you can walk from one end to the other and back. You can't.

Go to Freemont East on weekend nights. Better bars, more diverse atmosphere, and cheaper than the strip. To get there, go to the Freemont Street Experience, once under the giant dome, walk east until you get clear of it, then walk another block or so.

If you are staying on the south end or center of the strip, and your cab driver takes you on a freeway, he is ripping you off. This holds true if you are staying at the Hard Rock too.

If you get free passes to a club, and want to actually be able to use them to get in, there are 3 simple rules: Arrive around 9:30 and get in line. Dress appropriately, and have at least an even guy to girl ratio. Also, legit VIP passes are generally just business cards with the promoter's signature or something on the back. If someone tries to sell you something like a ticket or wristband, you're being ripped off.

Finally, and don't ask me how I know this: The guys handing out the girls direct to your room cards on the strip are legit if that is what you're looking for. However, there are important rules: Prostitution is illegal in Clark County. When you call in, you are calling to have a girl come and dance in your room for an hour. You are welcome to be specific about the type of girl you want, though the price will go up. If you say anything on the phone relating to sex, you will be hung up on. They will ask for your room number and hotel. They will then hang up, and call you back. This is to protect the girl and make sure you are who you say you are, and you are staying where you say you are staying. The amount you agree to on the phone is to pay the girl for dancing. This amount goes back to the company running the phones. Once the girl is in your room, whatever you and her agree to above and beyond what you paid the company for is up to you.
