People who love animals but hate people are every bit as psychotic as people who hate animals.

Yes, but they do take up time, resources, and attention. No, because they’re babies/children and definitely cannot reacclimate to outside living conditions. One day they will be able to contribute to society, and they should be given credit for that. Look, I love animals and pets as much as the next person, but I think humans abuse their relationship with domesticated animals and in turn neglect their relationships with humans. Some people have no balance between their respect and care for animals and their respect and care for humans, just because humans are complex beings. Not to mention if you’re filling an empty space for companionship, where was your previous companion? Where are they now? It’s not healthy to fill the void for a healthy human connection with pets. Plus, I know way too many people who have animals for companionship yet hold themselves to lowest standard of pet care. For the amount of people who own dogs, I sure don’t see a lot of dog walkers when I’m out and about. It only highlights the points of OP’s post. People want companionship, but don’t want to put in the work, so they resort to helpless animals.
