People who met their SO or another important person in their life through reddit, what’s your story?

Not Reddit, but similar. I was in a discord that I joined on a whim just to play games and meet some people. They had a vent chat that people went to, to vent about shit going on in their lives at the time. She was posting about how she felt like she didn't have any real friends anymore and felt like garbage. I shot her a message and said that if she wanted any company I was always free to chat. We got to talking that night and the day after, on the second day we figured out that we lived within an hour of each other and she suggested we meet up as a joke (we had really clicked). At the time I had major issues with my happiness and self-image so I just said "fuck it, why not". So I took the train ride, which was two and a half hours away to her house by myself, without telling my parents or any of my friends. As I got close I started getting a little freaked out, what if I turned up and it wasn't a girl, it was a murderer or I was getting lured in. On top of that, the most I had ever done with a girl with sit next to one while watching a movie. When the door to the house open, out came a cute, irish girl with purple hair who came up to about my shoulder in height (She is 4ft 9, I'm 6ft). We cuddled in her bed for hours and ended up getting really intimate. That day really let me explore myself sexually and romantically, she really made me feel worth it and confident. We've been together for almost a year now and frequently joke about how we both made an extremely stupid decision by just visiting a stranger after 3 days.

TL;DR - A girl and I made extremely unwise choices but it turned out to be one of the greatest decisions I've made in a while.
