I was dating a kid who was good friends with her current boyfriend. When I returned from abroad, she had broken up with her boyfriend while I was still with mine. Everything after that turned into a “him vs her” sort of deal. I would go out to breakfast with him and it would turn into her saying I was ditching her and not spending enough time with her. Then it got to the point of my boyfriend not being allowed to come over to the house, or if I was spending any time with him it was malicious intent to not spend time with her. They were friends... not sure why we couldn’t all spend time together (we had a lot of other roommates and we made sure not make her feel like the third wheel). It just progressively got worse and I had to defend every decision I made. To this day she will only reach out when something “exciting” happens in her life- new job, new trip, new car etc. I’m always excited when she texts me but it seems like it’s just to brag.
