People who have quit their jobs on the spot, what was the moment when you finally snapped?

Oy, I had a job like that. I was hired as the bookkeeper/office manager, but three years in my job had changed to General Manager and Staff Accountant, and my pay had raised from $32K to $33K/yr. I had to demand annual performance reviews and was told by my boss "The only reason you want a performance review is so you can get another job" which, to be honest, I still have no idea what that meant. I just wanted feedback so I could be better at my job, because I had no actual training or experience to do the job I was now doing and thought I was doing poorly.

Anyway, I got another job eventually and when I put in notice my boss started lamenting that he "wished" he could pay me more but I hadn't shown myself to be a team player, and he was very sad that after all the patience and goodwill he'd shown me I'd repaid his kindness by "allowing" myself to get poached by a direct competitor. They then had me post the job ad for my replacement and the pay range they put in the job description was 75-80K/yr. I collected my personal belongings and left after posting the ad.
