People are shitty as all hell. House I grew up in was in a desert neighborhood in that none of the roads were paved, real bumpy dirt that turned into mini grand canyons whenever it rained, and, while not so far out that the school bus didn't come, far enough that it was known as one of the 'yeah there's a lot of meth being made out there' neighborhoods'. Parents built the house when they were young, and I lived there until I was 18. Mail got stolen from the box every so often, everyones boxes were down the street along the path all us kids took to get to the bus stop, so it was always just shitty teenagers.

Eventually my parents, after living there for 30 years, were able to upgrade to a real real nice house in a fancy part of town that is across a field from the golf coarse and just a few blocks away from where all the rich peoples mansions are. Dad was so fucking proud-he was a construction worker for 30+ years and he and mom really budgeted their entire lives and could only afford the place when the housing market went to shit and they could get it under 100k. That 'moving on up' song from the Jeffersons was playing in the back of everyones minds.

A few months later his flatbed trailer was stolen in the middle of the night. Just straight up someone pulled their truck into our sideyard, hooked it up to theirs, and drove off with it. And some old bitch from a few streets away keeps accidentally getting our mail packages delivered to her house and just keeps shit she wants. Has literally come over to our house and given us some things saying 'oh your mail got mixed up with mine again and I don't really want these ones'. Some other lady won't put leashes on her dogs when she walks them and whenever they wander into our garage she just walks right in and takes them out 'ohh I'm so sorry they just don't listen to me sometimes but it's important they get to be free on walks' . We've also told her off for letting them poop in our yard, and she just says when that happens we should give her a paper towel and she'll clean it up. Fuck you lady it's not our job to babysit your dog and wait for it to shit so we can help with the cleanup. Parents still love living here, but it has brought a lot of disappointment into their lives.

Anyway tl;dr rich people continue to be the biggest assholes in the world.
