People who were wrongly jailed, were you ever exonerated and did your friends and family believe you?

I was arrested a few months ago after somebody accused me of attempting to assault him. No witnesses, no injuries, no actual evidence of an attempted assault... just this guy's word was apparently enough "probable cause" for the police to come and arrest me. I was in jail for about 12 hours before being bailed out.

My family believes me and so does my attorney, but in the criminal justice system the truth doesn't even matter and so it doesn't mean jack shit anyway.

The case is still ongoing, but my lawyer has applied me for mental health court (because I guess going through its diversion path and having everything expunged upon completion is better than going to trial and inexplicably being found guilty) but still, it's fucking bullshit.
