To people who've dated their best friend, how did you deal with the fact that it might ruin your friendship?

Best friends for like 2 years, fwb for one and a relationship for another year (Through high school times). Then we broke up because I moved for Uni und the distance and other things made it complicated, like 1,5 years ago

We planned to remain friends and I guess we still are but be rarely if ever talk. I have no ambitions or romantic feelings for her but when she told me a couple weeks ago that she has a new guy.. kinda stings. I’m really happy for her as she can be a fragile personality and In regards to her all I want is her to be happy and well. But given that I have not met anyone since then I’m even close to sharing the things and opening up to like her, while she’s you know...

I wouldn’t say I regret it tho, since, who knows we might not be talking nowadays anyways.

Take chances, deal with the consequences and grow from the experiences.
