People who've refused to evacuate at a disaster, What did you do while everyone was away?

Back when Kentucky Ice storm happened we didnt evacuate the first few days due to my Mom's job. We noticed my Nana was falling ill and had to get her somewhere warm. So we'd eventually have to evacuate. Until then we ended up staying at the one place in town with heat, electricity, space and a couple of spare beds... My Mom's job at the hospital. It was BEYOND boring. None of the other workers had family members staying so we had no one to play with and it was just super boring. All we had to entertain ourselves was Phase 10, a tiny DVD player with Shrek and Flubber, a spinning chair (with wheels!) and a couple of DS's with Pokemon Diamond and some GBA games. We had to stay quiet and only stayed long enough for my Mom to get off of work (which was only a couple of days.) The sleeping arrangement SUCKED. My parents and Nana slept on the gurneys (which was totally fair) and my twin sister and I slept in a room with super expensive (and loud) machines. Even inside sleeping bags the floor we were sleeping in was ice cold and rock hard. The lights would be on and we could not sleep. To top it off my parents would be talking filling my older sister and her friends on what was going on. If they heard my twin and me talking they'd tell us to shut up and go to sleep. Thankfully my Mom got off early and we spent the rest of the time at a motel in Nashville but those days we spent at ground zero was AWFUL.
