' People with a double nationality shouldn't have the right to vote or be in the Belgian Parlement'

I have dual citizenship with Belgium and the United States. I absolutely agree that people with multiple nationalities have the right to vote in each country and should be treated as equal citizens. In fact, I voted in the last elections of both countries (I frequently move back and forth). As for serving in parliament, that is where I could see an argument being made for putting restrictions on allowing people with nationalities. This is simply due to corruption. Sure in your case you may not particularly care about your Moroccan citizenship, but others may be vulnerable to corruption. Again, myself as an example, I received my US citizenship through my mother even though I grew up in Belgium. As such, deep down I feel more Belgian than American. If I were to serve in the US government and something came up that may affect Belgium, I would have a considerable conflict of interest because I see myself as Belgian first, American second. in my case I could always revoke my one of my citizenships if I wanted to serve in public office, but that doesn't seem to be an option for you. So maybe an outright ban on dual citizens serving in parliament is the wrong answer, but I definitely think it is something for any country to be cautious about. Idk, maybe I'm completely wrong, but personally I wouldn't feel right being in either government. Totally with you on voting and everything else though
