When I was in 7th grade a girl in class asked to go to the bathroom twice and was denied. She was on the verge of tears and a few minutes later she wet herself, I mean there was a puddle beneath her that had to be mopped up. She was crying while it happened and then walked out. She never returned to school. I don’t know what happened to the teacher, but I hated that woman and I hated that class. I hope that girl was able to move on at whatever new school she went to. I STILL think about that incident any time someone mentions not being able to go to the bathroom during class. Just GO! Tell them where you are going and that you will be right back and that your parents will deal with the teacher’s denial of basic human rights later.
