Permanent Resident Application - Can I apply as single even though I am in a Common-Law relationship ?

Your points will go up if your boyfriend speaks English or French well and has a degree. If he doesn't have a degree or doesn't speak a primary language well, your points would go down. Check the CRS calculator to determine what the point would be.

You must be truthful when entering data into the Express Entry Expression of Interest. However, you do have the option of stating that the common-law partner will not accompany you with an outland application. I don't know if you have this option with inland.

I'm not sure what the implications are of this, but it would not have him as part of your application.

At the end of the day, he might make your points go up, and I don't believe that your application will take much longer, if at all. They may just ask for more information about the relationship.
