To the person who wasn't a fan of the new Old Bay Can - I too agree.

The problem is the design of the lid. If you look carefully at the website you can see how the new design is different - you can flip up the whole lid (see the little lip in front in the new can) so that you can pour a ton out if needed. The problem is that A.) This allows for small amounts of the spice and particles to work their way in between the upper part of the lid and park around the rim of the plastic container meaning the lid now won't close flush all of the way and the lid will fly open while shaking when you only want a little bit or B.) It just doesn't close strongly enough so that when you use the top part with the small holes and shake with some vigor the whole thing flies open like whatt you have here.

Epic fail by McCormick. I can't believe they spend thousands of dollars hiring people to design products yet can not see the forest through the trees to see why there are such obvious design flaws with the package. How did they also not product test a ton prevent a debacle like this from making it through? The first time I tried opening the package was extremely difficult as well. The polymer used for the top part is different now and is a bit softer than before which made it hard as hell for me to get open the part with the small holes when I only wanted a little bit. That part of the lid wouldn't detach easily and open up. The entire flip part of the lid started coming open before I could get that part open. It had me cussing up a storm.
