A PERSON'S ISLAM IS NOT VALID EXCEPT WITH : KUFR BI TAGHOOT

Quoting passages of the Qur'an out of context is a type of kufr (i.e., a covering of the truth). To wit, the article on page 8 quotes the following Qur'anic verse:

الِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا

[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone. —Qur'an 72:26

By quoting that verse in isolation, it appears to show that only Allah knows the Unseen. However, the next verse in the Qur'an says:

لَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ رَصَدً

Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers. —Qur'an 72:27

As you can see, the meaning changes completely when you read the verse in context.

Wikipedia has an article on this type of deception titled: Quoting out of context

Here is a slice:

Quoting out of context (sometimes referred to as contextomy or quote mining) is an informal fallacy and a type of false attribution[citation needed] in which a passage is removed from its surrounding matter in such a way as to distort its intended meaning. Contextomies may be either intentional or accidental if someone misunderstands the meaning and omits something essential to clarifying it, thinking it to be non-essential.
