So much cognitive dissonance in this thread.

Killing 70 billion land animals a year for food that we don't need other than taste. Killed in a horrible way by gassing, hunting, throat slicing, boiled alive etc is perfectly acceptable. Keeping in cages, forced insemination, plucking out feathers of birds for down whilst alive all perfectly acceptable.

PETA kill about 2000 because the animals have no home , possibly in pain and no one wants to adopt them, they're killed in a painless way. And they're treated like the devil.
