Pete Buttigieg and the corrupt Navy direct commission program.

I don't know what your MOS is/was, but don't give me that bs that everyone who deployed faced danger. I'm sure that you've heard the term REMF. And that's not being disparaging towards anyone, it's just how it's been seen by every soldier since time in memoriam. Yeah, deployments can be difficult on everyone, being away from home. But it's a wide gap between us 11Bs kicking in doors and clearing buildings versus folks sitting in an office most days.

But that's not what my post was about. It was about this program that exists solely for nepotism. Again, I'm not talking about doctors or attorneys. They have skills that the military will need, and I thank them for their willingness to make those skills available in times of need. But these political folks have no such skills, so if they want to be officers, then they should go through the same process as everyone else. I spent 22 weeks going through Infantry OSUT to earn the blue chord. If Buttigieg or the others I mentioned want the credit for serving, then they should earn it.
