Petition for Youtube to ban videos of autistic children's meltdowns

Hold up with that. Ill repost here.

If you want to be defined by your diagnosis and have your whole identity wrapped up in it, then that’s you’re right, I guess. I personally hate being the token “gay OT, Steven”. Or “gay Steven”. My sexual orientation is a sliver of my being and I don’t want to be defined by one aspect of myself. There were two Steve’s in my OT class and guess what I got labeled by default: gay Steven. So the other one get’s to be just Steven without a definitive prefix? Why didn’t anyone call him heterosexual Steven? Or Autistic Steven? Because it would be disrespectful to label him as something that only makes up one piece of his existence. For example, I am Steven and I just so happen to be gay. I will not be reduced to ‘gay Steven’. You are Karen and you just so happen to have autism. You should not reduce yourself to ‘autistic Karen’. What we’re trying to say is that we believe you are so much more than that.
