You're going at this poorly.

Firstly, you have this petition hosted on Change.org, instead of the Government of Canada's ePetition website for official recognition.

Secondly, I've seen that you posted this over at r/canadianforces expecting to garner their support, without recognising that all members of the Canadian Armed Forces/DND are legally not allowed to sign petitions.

Thirdly, you're posting this on r/Saskatchewan (and as the only regional subreddit you've posted to so far,) instead of r/Canada which would have far more reach.

Don't get me wrong, I support you in your cause. I think the Canadian Armed Forces need their budget increased, and more public support. CAF members do far more domestically and internationally than people realise. BUT, if this is a cause you intend to spearhead, you need to come at it with a solid approach. Use the petition system the government provides so it is officially recognized, share the ePetition on multiple platforms with the intent of reaching the largest qualifying populations possible, and when you do share, make sure to include supporting articles.

Take a couple steps back, regroup, and run at it again. You have a strong cause; give it the intent and degree of professionalism it deserves.
