His comment is extremely misleading. This seems like blatant FUD to me and the Reddit post he is sharing does not discount OBV as he is apparently trying to do here. It merely points out its limitations, which ANY indicator has. Nothing is perfect, however OBV is absolutely relevant. Also, when you compare OBV to other charts with other companies, their OBV line moves in relation to the share price, if the price goes up, it generally goes up. If the price goes down, OBV generally goes down. With GameStop, when the price goes down, the OBV line continues to move up or stays flat, which indicates market manipulation, more buying, more shorting and less selling. Key word “indicates”. Of course nothing is perfect, but it is absolute misinformation the way this guys comment is stated and how he’s framing this.
