PFC, how do you feel about Canadian tipping culture regarding situations in which no "service" is provided?

I went to my local amazing-and-I-hope-it-never-goes-under sushi place recently, and it's not a chain...totally run by the owners' family complete with their kids in the restaurant all the time.

While I was waiting there (and happy to do so) for my order, almost a dozen gig drivers came and went. Now, the restaurant lost probably a third of their income on every one of those orders versus mine...that's part of why I pick up (we're vehemently against gig apps unless it's some kind of emergency). So with that in mind, did I tip? No, I didn't, even though the machine suggested I should. I do feel conflicted about those kinds of situations though.
