I don't think this would stop fowl play or bias, since the officials could just say it crossed or didn't. The public has no way of knowing if it did - even with a chip.

This actually gives the nfl more power in deciding the outcome of a call - since we are now trusting unknown data. The data would have less errors, but the public likely wouldnt get to see the data, so it could all be fabricated. Hell even if we did get to see the data, how would we know it wasn't fake? Of course Mahomes would want this - Hes playing on the team with the most no calls on penalties in recent history. The NFL has already shown biased with regards to KC, at least from what I saw last season.
