PG&E will begin cutting power at midnight Wednesday. Nearly 800,000 California customers will be affected

You never know how good you have things you take for granted (electricity, water, etc...) until you lose them. I've never dealt with any issues in my town until we moved.

In 2006 we moved to an area that had it's water and electricity coming from private agencies, WMWD and So Cal Edison. We dealt with the rolling blackouts in the early 2000s, the constant water shutoffs from 2008 to 2015. Total pain in the ass to deal with.

In 2015 we moved back and aside from the 1 power outage because some asshole hit a power pole for our neighborhood, we've had zero issues.

So yeah, never having to worry about your utilities turning to shit is exactly why I live where I do.
