PGT: [GAME 7] VANCOUVER CANUCKS (3-3) @ VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS (3-3) - 09/04/2020

Super true. Most of us started watching after the shooting. I know I wasn’t a fan, nor did I pay attention until I had an Uber driver crying during a ride down in Vegas. I never really followed hockey and didn’t know who the knights were.

She told me what it was like having two family members die and how the Knights’ unexpected success gave her something to rally around since she just felt a void from the loss, confusion at how 59 people could be murdered, and anger.

It had all the making of a Rocky story and the team gave a lot of people an opportunity to discover the sport. That’s when a lot of us started checking out the Nux too, since you have been a long term powerhouse in the Pacific. It’s been fun getting to know hockey and see the city lifted up. It’s been fun to have competitive series with veteran teams like you. Thank you for welcoming us to the league and being supportive of new fans falling in love with the sport you’re all so passionate about.
