Phantom Foul Call of the Year by NBA referee Lauren Holtkamp

She will continue to be in this same can't-win situation her entire career. If she calls a game tight, she'll be criticized. If she let's them play, she'll be criticized. Any game she calls, there will always be some part of the fans (especially of the losing team) that will blame her, one way or the other. She's probably being blamed more for the chippiness of the game than Plumlee, who was being a dick from the beginning of the first quarter. Someone must have told him that the way to beat the Clippers is to rough them up. That doesn't mean get out of control though. It means just out-physical them, a la Z-Bo. FFS, just focus on him in the Blazers first two possessions. He's completely out of control.

On the first, she very correctly calls a loose-ball foul on Plumlee. On the second... who is that, Tony Brothers? watches Plumlee wrap up and tackle DJ without a call. Let's criticize him for that terrible call instead, okay? Blatant foul, no whistle. On the last play... see u/DNP_old's comment. But who gets the criticism? The woman.
