PhD in STEM > MD

Do you really need this validation that your work/training is just as difficult as those of an MD?

"Psychotic" (more like highly narcissistic) bosses are everywhere, especially in academia.

They don't need to learn They couldn't do what you do. And you couldn't do what they do.

A foundational understanding of science, and the philosophy behind science is completely lost on MD students.

Good. I want them focusing on my disease, not the "philosophy" of it. And their understanding of science is pretty damn good. It is actually way more than they need to do their jobs well.

which was given to them by PhDs discovering the knowledge in those books

Not usually. It is usually other MDs making discoveries in medicine.

With the exception of skilled surgeons, specialists, and MD/PhDs, the degree of PhD in a STEM field should be looked at with far greater prestige.

No.
