Phoenix slides $68k to Firefighter union boss for MMJ-tax botch job ... nothing to see here.

The Head of the firefighter's union gets paid 68k (a 40%+ salary increase) to "work" for 5 months (in a role someone was already being paid to fill) coming up with a single proposal that was basically laughed out of city hall ... a couple years out from one of the "city's biggest personnel mix-ups in decades" ... and just a few months from his union clamoring for more staff ... and there isn't a twinge of concern around this for you?

and more ...

the tax plan did not go through subcommittees or public discussion and instead materialized at the last minute to a shocked and outraged pot industry

A lack of transparency and incestuous relations should always cause suspicion. On it's face it is a "shady deal."

The New Times won't say it for fear of a libel suit. He is being paid off by the city to make sure his union plays nicey nice. The firefighters lose. The residents lose. The city acts like everything is smooth.

What else is there to have but disdain?
