I agree, we need a new Albert E. I think mathematics and close-minded personalities are a natural marriage unfortunately. For real advancement, you need that guy who's naturally good at it, but has that creativity you find in a Shakespeare or Beethoven. It's a special kind of generational genius... they're not only smart, but dedicated and creative.

I think there's enough observational data now. If only the Hubble telescope existed 100 years ago. I think we're on the right track, and we'll come to some better conclusions soon. But I have to agree with the author, I think theoretical physics is missing the mark, and there's a far more elegant solution out there - we just need Albert E 2.0 to write us the formula.
