Picking up coffee this morning and looked down to see this in the tip jar. “I know what that is!” Swapped a dollar for this well worn 42 P.

Cool bro I didn’t mean to be a dick, just back working again at an independent coffee shop for the flexible schedule and I’m not sure a lot of people realize most of those places pay you under minimum wage and we really rely on tips.

It’s totally fine if someone doesn’t tip all the time especially if they’re just getting a drip coffee or something but we definitely notice if a regular never tips especially if they’re not polite. All I’m saying is I appreciate even 25-50 cents being thrown in or whatever cause it’s something and we regularly have people spending upwards of $30 on complicated bagels we have to make and lattes and shit and not tipping at all.

We had a v unpleasant regular couple that would always launch into their order whether you’re even looking at them or close by or not and they bought $60 worth of bagels and lattes one day and didn’t tip. I never would have done this but my insane and ballsy manager asked them what was wrong with the service cause they didn’t tip on a $60 labor intensive bill and they were like wow I always tip at restaurants it just literally never occurred to me here...
