Picture I took today in Baltimore

See, I agreed with that until I read something along the lines of, how else do you prove the point? My first and second reactions were, why burn down your own city? But the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. What else do you do? Sing kumbaya? That doesn't work. Burn down city hall? Yeah, now everyone's dead. Hold hands in a big circle. Everyone's acquitted... Rioting sucks. It's retarded. But in situations like this, it's not the best option, it's the last option. And that's beyond the point I'm making. That's here or there. Maybe, maybe not.

All the comments I read when I read this, until I had to click to see more, were all "how cute", "great pic" "the pic was on tv! Awesome!" blah blah. My point stands. This is America. Right now. Today. It looks like a pic you saw from the middle east five years ago. That's not to be celebrated. That's the only point I was trying to make.

Next week that could be your child, a block from your home. (well maybe not you, but certainly me. I'm from Camden nj, and nj as a whole has been boiling for a while). Im not taking a pic of a child and a young soldier at face value. I'm looking deeper into it. That's a soldier with a gun, on that child's playground, in America, today. Tomorrow that could be my street, so I'm sorry if I'm not so quick to be like "hey, interesting picture". This shit is real, it's now, it's in America, and more than that, it's some of our children, outside of some of our front doors. If you wanna say great pic OP, I agree, it is, but to me, it stands for something vastly different than it seems to for almost everyone else in this thread (that I saw when I first clicke it). This picture sucks. Morally. As art, cool. Great pic. Let someone else call that in 10 years. Right now, let's focus on what this is. War in America. Us vs us. Anyway you want to slice it, this pic would nt be possible without great injustice in our backyard. If you wanna take it at face value, I can't stop you. But the saying, a picture speaks a thousand words... That's this. And they arent "cute" " congrats" and "op", ok?
