Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - The Forgotten Sanctum Trailer

I bought POE2 and enjoyed it, but tbh tropical settings in RPGs kinda ruins the atmosphere imo... I think that Divinity Original Sin is also good in spite of it.

Deadfire coming out on the heels of DOS2 as a game based in a tropical environment also was a bit too much of the same in a short time.

Doesn't ruin the game, but it is def not a positive in my book. Not sure how much this effected sales...

Obisidian also needs to lay off contemporary issues in their games. There is way too much allegory in their writing for my taste... I want a world with issues that are it's own, I do not want hot topic contemporary issues worming into the narritives of the games I play. It's been gietting beyond ridiculous lately.

Seems like the older Infinity Engine games had their ideas more influenced by classic philosophy. Now it seems like this game (and many more on the market) just try to shove modern politically derived ideas into your fun, and it is a huge turn off to a game for me personally. We have 24 hour cable news for that kind of crap, let's not have it permeate into every aspect of entertainment as well.
