Pitbull owners who say they aren't dangerous don't understand the breed. My puppy ended my cats life yesterday.

I don't appreciate the insults. Maybe you're not aware of this but pitbulls are protective dogs. They are not the same as cocker spaniels. I did not choose to get fluffy little foo foo innocent doggies, intentionally. As a single woman I feel safe with my dogs who are protective. I said I have had pits all my adult life, my last female pit was spayed at 6 months and suffered severe health issues that cost thousands of dollars and she was never healthy again after getting spayed. She only lived to 7. I planned to wait until this female's first heat to avoid her having lifelong health issues and hormone issues, hopefully. Well one time they managed to get together and it resulted in puppies, which I chose not to terminate and raised until they were 10+ weeks old before finding them new homes which were all checked out in depth and I keep in touch with most of them still. She got fixed right after. If "smaller and kinder" dogs are what someone desires, pits aren't the best choice, in my opinion. This post was to share my experience and hopefully keep other animals and people safe. I'm sure there are other pitbull owners who have cats and their dog(s) are friendly with the cat(s) like my situation that went badly all of a sudden.
