There is no such thing as a good fight, good matches of sport based fighting sure, but an actual good fight is a fallacy we tell ourselves for a sense of fairness, a fight is a battle, a battle is war, in war there are only winners, losers and victims and no amount of fairness will change that. When you have to fight, you fight to win, you fight to end all other fights on the subject, you fight so you no longer have to. The warriors virtue is to one day be able to lay down his sword and pick up the plow.

When a fight comes to your doorstep you fight to win, but not just the momentary victory, you make sure the fight is done, that that victory denies any chance of retaliation else it will always come back to you looking for more. There can be no half meausres, they only invite future ruin, it is brutal and can be perceived as heartless but we fight to end it, not save it for another day, thats bloodshed for the sake of bloodshed, fighting only serves a purpose if victory ensures a lack of retaliation.

More things are war than simple bloodshed and more things are fighting than throwing blows, however they must all be treated the same, they must be fought with the express purpose of seeking an ending to the bloodshed, physical or metaphorical. We must take action in the extreme when challenged or it will always come back to haunt the momentary victor.
