Plank V. End Dynastic Rule in America.

The ruling dynasty in America today is made up of those politicians who have been in elected office so long that they feel it is their right to rule us. It also included their family members who have immediate credibility as candidates because of their relationship with these Lords and Ladies of the Realm.

The significant similarities between our ruling dynasty and the old monarchies are many and telling. The most significant similarities are that our rulers today believe that they have the right to rule and are the only ones who could rule by virtue of their elevated life. In addition, most of our most powerful rulers today have never done anything other than rule us; many of them have never had even one job in the private sector but have spent their entire life as government officials, elected or appointed.

Like the royal families of old, our rulers today have little fear of losing their station. Finally, like the gentry of old living isolated in their castles, our dynastic rulers live in what has come to be called The Artificial Bubble of Washington D.C. In other words, America is ruled today by out of touch elitists whose primary desire is to secure or increase their station while having little fear of the power of the peasants. The destruction of a government of, by, and for the people is complete; it has been replaced with a government of the dynasty governing for benefit of the dynasty. The only way to end this detestable state of affairs is to limit the time Americans can spend in elected office.

Proposed Legislation:

The purpose of this legislation is to prevent anyone from serving as a government official for more than 30 years total, in any combination of elected or appointed office.

  1. No elected representative, nor appointed official, can be employed by governments (local, state, and/or federal, etc.) for more than 30 years in total. The clock starts as soon as they are either elected or appointed, and ends when they leave the position. These 30 years need not be contiguous.

  2. Violation of this statute shall constitute a felony with a mandatory sentence in a high security federal prison. Also, no plea bargaining for a lower sentence is allowed.

Objections and Rebuttals:

Objection: The Constitution does not permit such a restriction.
Rebuttal: This is for the Supreme Court of the United States to determine. If, after this legislation is signed into law, this court finds it unconstitutional, our elected representatives will work to amend the Constitution so that this is allowed.

Objection: This law would remove much-needed experts and institutional knowledge from our government; we need them too much.
Rebuttal: Those scientists that study such things have concluded it takes around 10,000 hours to become expert in any given position or field. This works out to around five years of a full-time job, leaving 25 years when this expertise can be applied to our government. Furthermore, they can always be consulted regarding areas of their government expertise.
