Planning on firing nanny and I have 2 questions

Just ship her items to her house overnight. It’ll be pricey but at least you’ll be done with it.

If there is anywhere you can leave reviews or mom Facebook groups in your area I would post there.

I’m so sorry about your daughter experiencing this - but thankfully she seems secure enough that she’s ok with her other nanny, so as of now it seems like the only thing it’s damaged is her relationship with the nanny.

As for your next nanny - can you go through an agency or even care.com (but offer a higher fee)? I don’t know what kind of references you had for this nanny or what you were paying, but make sure to speak to at least one family that employed her long term (I worked after school & holidays/summer for a family for 7 years for instance. Therefore my reference was able to speak about knowing how I was with the kids over an extended time & how I managed their development milestones).

If you read this sub it’s full of passionate child caregivers. Getting a terrible nanny, if you are paying market nanny rate, is rare but of course can happen. Don’t beat yourself up but I understand how traumatizing this might be for you. I grew up in an abusive household and I still marvel everyday at the fact that most people are kind and decent, I just was raised by two outliers. But while it may be an immense amount of stress for you, as long as your baby received kind and consistent caregiving from here on out it sounds like she’s going to be ok.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. A parents nightmare. And if you can’t afford top market nanny rates look into a nanny share or daycare ❤️ again so so sorry. Fire her and let her know her stuff is in the mail.
