Plastic fantastics for competition

I currently have both a Walther Q5 and a Sig P320 X5.

I really want to like the Sig more than I do, but I just can't get past the trigger. I would have hoped, for a competition gun, that Sig would have done more than just put a flat faced trigger in the fire control group. It's otherwise a fantastic gun. I've been considering some upgrades to it, primarily to the trigger, but also guide rod and recoil spring as well. Once I decide if I'm keeping it, it will need some work to be what I think it can be.

The Walther Q5 is a home run right out of the box. I've never felt a trigger on a striker fired gun as nice as this one. Pull is a little heavy for my taste, but short take up and reset are really nice. I've been extremely happy with everything else about the gun and have really enjoyed shooting it.

I did add a Taylor Freelance mag well and some +6 base pads. These aren't completely necessary, but I've enjoyed having them. The mag well does leave a very small lip inside, of exposed frame, but with a loaded mag, I've not had any resistance or problems with fast mag changes. I may remove a bit of material from the bottom of the frame yet just to minimize the risk.

My opinion... The Walter is a no brainer and a fantastic gun. The Sig is awesome, but I think it needs some work to see the potential I would have hoped it had out of the box.
