Want to play a game? First user suggests a character buff or nerf, second user has to justify the buff or nerf in a way that Jeff Kaplan would.

So we've been getting a lot of feedback about lore and how a lot of you want to see more of it in the actual gameplay. Well, I'm happy to announce that we've given Mei a new passive ability; it's called "Resourceful".

As you all know from our short "Rise and Shine", Mei used to be a part of this really great team based in Ecopoint: Antarctica. Due to, uh, an astronomic anomaly, the team all had to undergo cryostasis. And when Mei woke up nine years later, she found herself alone. And she has to figure out how to survive. While she worked on her endothermic blaster, you can see this really cool montage where she scavenges materials and you just see this pile of empty noodle cups stack up on the work bench.

As an homage to this scene, whenever Mei takes a health pack but doesn't use all of it, a resource will spawn in its place. Mei will get healed to full health, and the resource will contain whatever remaining health would have been in the healthpack, for her team to pick up. Now to help distinguish between smaller and larger resources, anything 50 HP and below will spawn as a mug of hot chocolate, anything from 51 to 100 will be a half empty cup of budget noodles, and anything from 101 to 199 HP will be a full cup of premium noodles.

We're hoping that this will help Mei be a great resource to her team, and we think you're all going to really enjoy this new addition to her character.
