Play Off Heartache

If Bielsa stays he's going to want assurances he can improve the squad. He said this season with this squad they wouldn't have a better shot than this, that's a huge statement from him.

And while I am still some kind of weird combination of fuming and numb that we choked so hard after being so close, he has a point and we must make some significant signings.

It's pretty crazy that he got as close as he did with the injuries and lack of incoming transfers, not to mention Saiz demanding out at mid-season.

That insanity with the Dan James deal was a killer for us, especially with Douglas so iffy and injured all year. We ended up with nothing but a GK for the whole damn window.

And say what you want about Bielsa burnout being a myth, but the fact is we were top at the mid-year break and 3rd at the end, with a terrible fun of form to end the season.

As good as he is for the club, Bielsa has his flaws and one thing I think he might have learned is that running with a 22 man squad is just too thin for this league.
