Have you played OW2 ?

i see AND agree with the main point you're making: it's impossible for us to know what to actually expect, and we shouldn't jump to conclusions.

however. , the nervousness is both expected and not unfounded. they ARE deleting a role from the game. actually, they're deleting two roles, in a way. If they are completely taking Tank into an entirely new direction, then Main and Off tank are gone, and we have an entirely new thing, and that's worrisome. not just for people that have Overwatch as a career, whether it be professionals in the League or content creators that play as tanks (and often with a main/off tank duo), but also for people that play and prefer playing tank.

also, if they Do keep to tradition and tanks keep playing as "main" or "off" tanks, then that's even more worrisome. why the fuck would you ever play anything but a main tank over the off tanks unless they were ridiculously strong or you played differently out of principle? or because you were a one-trick? would a 1-2-2 comp with D.Va as the only tank, while she's still in her off tank form, ever compete with a Reinhardt?

i honestly agree that, like you said, we won't know what will come of it, and that i too am skeptical and and excited to see what happens. but i don't blame people for being worried. this can go very, very wrong.
