Players that blew your mind-Shout out to my players

Had a character named Othos for a long time. He was a Dwarven Barbarian dedicated to a homebrew god named Hunegard Flameheart. He was extremely pious throughout every game, always making small talk about him at any given chance. So the party was hunting down the Big Bad (Macon Mandrake), an evil wizard who likes to mutate creatures to make them vicious monsters. He and another PC named Ravi had fallen deeply in love in the time of the adventure, as they were both sort of black sheeps. Othos had a premonition of his death the night before the party blitzkrieged Macon's keep. He spoke phrophetically that day preparing for battle, and left a note to the party leader of his dream. He got swarmed by soldiers and the whole party thought he was dead. Ravi refused to believe that. She was a shadowdancer and stealthily invaded the keep, and found Othos. But he no longer looked the same. He had jet black, leathery skin, wings that lead to huge claws and massive teeth. He had short horns and one of his eyes was red and seemed to move on its own accord. The only thing left of his former self was a gem from his god that was embedded in his chest. The last session is nearing an end, the party is racing towards a door slowly sliding shut from the ceiling. It doesn't look like they will get there in time, when Othos jumps out from an adjacent hallway to hold the 6 ton door up so they can get through. They all slide through and it slams shut, othos on the opposite side. He uses his claws to carve into the wall his Wish that he accumulated. "Hunegard, I've done my best. I wish to die." When the party defeated Macon, they found that on the wall.

But there's an interloper. Ravi was there too. She asked Hunegard to take her life instead. So Hunegard used Ravi's heart and his own divine blood to reforge Othos. The symbolism is that the flame of their love kept him alive. She was a true Flameheart.
