PlayStation's Jim Ryan defends controversial The Last of Us Part 2 trailer: "A game made by adults, to be played by adults"

Now, I'm not going to sit here and make the claim that The Last of Us 2 is wholly misogynistic.

Okay.

I don't think anyone's making that claim

Uh...Well the article referenced only attacks against women and made TLOU2 the main point of reference...

I don't know enough about the first game, as I never played it,

Ah, and you've probably not seen the other trailer for it in which a woman, Ellie, the, assumed, main protagonist of this game has killed a bunch of people. That wasn't an issue thought. But I'm guessing you haven't seen that trailer though...You're just a rarely used account using the authors first and last name (which seems a bit odd...) here defending an article about a game you know nothing about....

Hrm....

Not fishy at all.

Oh wait! There's more!

I do, however, think that Polygon's Julia Alexander makes a pretty strong case for why using this kind of unexplained, incredibly brutal violence against women

How do you know that this is unexplained and brutal for the series if you haven't played it? This is actually spot on for the series...Furthermore who gives a hoot as to it being a woman vs a male? You make it a point to talk like the author and make it a case for women...when it has nothing to do with gender.

thrill an audience and sell a video game treads on some pretty shaky ground at best.

What the fuck are you suggesting? That we are only buying this because it depicts violence against women? Fuck off, and that's me putting my words kindly. I have 4 sisters and a mother I love, if you even teeter the line of suggesting that I enjoy this game (you never played) because it is a thrill to beat a woman then I hope all the oil leaks from your car and you drive it 20 miles.

Especially so because Julia tackles the issue from within a cultural context of violence against women.

You are astroturfing hard. Julia is a nobody, you can't use her name as if it's household.

The portrayals of women in video games are in a really bad spot right now. There's no denying that. This here is just the latest example of using female characters for kitsch, rather than telling a story about humans.

Conjecture, but you're an astroturf account, so you won't be back.
