Please add whizbang to classic

I never know how I’m always the first person to tell this to GaMErs, but your favorite (or any) video game companies are no different from companies who manufacture snack cakes, tires, or shoes.

It’s literally all about making money. That is their sole intention. Anything else is marketing propaganda. It just feels more blatant lately as more game companies have realized the most efficient modes of creating a profit.

Any hypothetical game company you can think of that doesn’t seem to operate in similar ways only operate in a different way because they’ve noticed a particular market niche they can occupy, wherein their separate mode of operation has been determined by their finance department to be more profitable for that company in particular. As soon as that reality changes, they’ll jump right into to whatever awful pricing models all the other ones are using.
