Please don't degrade this profession. It's scaring away students!

MLS’ might get paid more closely to RTs and rad techs but that’s not really apples to apples as one is a community college degree and the other requires a bachelor’s. Apart from having to spend an extra 2 years of your life, it’s also way more expensive to attend a 4 year university. My MLT program cost me like $4k total. 2 years at a university bridge program cost $22k…

Also I kinda just disagree that even MLS pay is comparable. I make $28/hr as an MLS and I know for a fact RTs make way more, in the realm of $35-40. An MLT might start at $20-25 in my area.

I’m not saying being an RT would be a good fit for everybody, but I think a prospective MLT student should at least strongly consider it as an option. It’s a better job unless you’re a total misanthrope and can’t handle dealing with people.
