Please help my boyfriend and I take an anniversary trip!

Hello! I know this is complete long-shot, but I absolutely think it's worth a try.

I would like to surprise my wonderful boyfriend on a 3-day trip for our 3-year anniversary.

He's just the most amazing person. And I want to do something for him that will just blow him away.

We've had a very hard year. We've overcome a lot. And I believe we're starting to get ourselves together. He's an extremely hard worker who completed a 9-month pipefitting and welding course (with honors!) this year. I'm so proud of him. But unfortunately, he hasn't been able to find a job in our small city yet, and is starting to get discouraged. We've been living off of our parent's goodwill and our prior-to-school savings from passed jobs for 3 years now.

I myself have suffered from extreme depression and anxiety the passed year, and many before it. The death of my grandmother, who was the world to me, completely disconnected me from the world. I was devastated. I finally made the choice to commit to bettering myself. In the New Year I have lost twenty-eight pounds (so far), feel more confident, and have also gone back to an adult-education school to complete highschool.

We are twenty-four and twenty-six and have dreams of buying a house and starting a family within the next 5-10 years.

Through it all we've endured together. I believe we are meant to be.

We have very little money to celebrate our anniversary. I have put up ads for snow shoveling and dog walking, and will also put up ads for house-cleaning hoping to gather together some money. I've also put things on Ebay and other classifieds.

Our anniversary is March 25th. My plan would be to drive us 8-hours away to St. John's, stay at the Delta hotel on the harbor front, visit signal hill, cape spear, and walk the streets of the city. Go for dinner at the Yellowbelly brewery and India gate. Treat him to falafel. All things we can't get at home. I've been thinking about asking him to marry me while we're there, but that is still heavy in the planning phase. :)

Getting to take him on this trip would probably be the most amazing thing to happen to us (besides eachothers). I'm sure he would be absolutely thrilled and I know I definitely would be. I wouldn't even know how to express the depth of my gratitute. Allowing us to take some time away together to find ourselves again and rediscover what it's like to have fun- and let our worries go for a while.

I know there are more worthy causes on this site, but I have to try. If even 150 people donate $10 we can afford to go! I'm going to raise as much as I can on the side and hope for the best.

Much love to everybody out there. And thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone who donates even $1! and also to everyone for just reading this far.

Please feel free to ask any questions! and please no negative comments. One guy raised money for potato salad, so I have to give it a shot for the love of my life. (:
