Please be more specific in your titles.

I'm sure this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but it has been sitting with me for a while and I feel like it needs to be said.

The recent "why can't any of you people post in this subreddit properly!" posts have really put a total damper on this subreddit for me. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like some of the posts that aren't "up to snuff" have been censored off the front page, or some of the newer folks are now afraid of posting for fear of being called out for doing something 'wrong'. The way I see it, complaining about and/ or putting down someone for wasting your time because they didn't write out a perfect title is really unfriendly. This should be a supportive subreddit! We're all here to learn about/ teach each other about how awesome it is to make something with your own two hands (and a sewing machine)!

Maybe someone was just so excited to share their project with everyone that they didn't include the exact pattern they used in the title. That is no reason to come down on them for not 'following the rules'. Maybe a friendly reminder comment would be more helpful? Perhaps someone who is new to sewing is also new to reddit, and they don't totally understand the sidebar business. It could be that they thought, "Hey! I'll post on this cool sewing subreddit! I'm sure I can find some helpful people here!" Instead they're met with "Grrr! Read the sidebar! Don't you know anything?!"

I'm a more casual sewer, and I come on here when I have free time to see what other people are up to, upvote some of the gorgeous work I've seen, learn some new tricks, and maybe find a great new pattern. Seeing complaints akin to "ughh... stupid noobs! you're using the internet wrong! follow my rules or go away!" makes me feel unwelcome.

Not to mention, if you're so busy that the 30 seconds it takes to open and close a link that you're not interested in is getting you all huffy you might want to take a look at your priorities and come back to reddit when you have some time to spare.

Feel free to downvote me, but if you share my thoughts I would really like to know. Also, if I'm totally misunderstanding the 'rules' posts, please explain to me what I've been missing.
