Ah yes, the pompous, self-satisfied "everyone else is an idiot" attitude, accompanied by a solid dose of oversimplification and hyperbolic straw-man arguments. One good thing about not working right now is not having to be around attitudes like yours (because we all work with at least one of those people who feels the need to tell you why any mainstream opinion is wrong)

"The media" isn't fear-mongering - the majority I've seen/read has been fairly fact-based, with exception of some of Right Wing media which dangerously undersells this crisis (a little less so now.)

Current low estimate is 100,000 dead if we keep with current level of isolation. That's not the Black Plague, but it is serious.
