The Pluralist Commonwealth

I hear you.

I would give some of the ideas of the thinker behind this idea a read though, especially this as a start point: http://thenextsystem.org/framing-the-challenges-of-a-next-system-after-fossil-fuels/

In my eyes, it frames a workable method for the issues we face right now, and especially the immediate transition we need to pull off.

I definitely remain a fan of Bookchin, Communalism, and Social Ecology.

I don't think we're on the cusp of a mass communalist movement in the US though, whereas there is a lot of activity going on working in a lot of diverse areas of thought, but all centered around the concept of sustainability and transitioning from a fossil fuel powered growth economy to a more cooperatively owned steady state and localized production system economy, and I'd like to promote that.

I'm working on a sub for these ideas, here: /r/next_system_project. Still under construction, its brand new, and if anyone likes feel free to sub to it and see how it unfolds.

All said, I wish both movements luck, I'd be quite happy to participate in a communalist/libertarian municipalist project any day.
