PM calls off diplomatic visit to Caribbean amid ongoing rail stoppages

That’s very interesting, I wasn’t aware the preparation for quick repairs included even bridge trusses.

Out curiosity let’s say the entrance to a tunnel was taken out by a high yield missile; how long would that take to be repaired? What about a significant but not major bridge like the West End rail bridge in Sioux lookout?

It’s honestly something I’ve thought about (wouldn’t go so far as say worried about). Canada really relies on a few major rail lines in a way that few other countries do. In the area I’m from in norway during the war the Germans had a hell of a time keeping their troops and airplanes supplied because the resistance constantly shut down the rail line (one single spur going north). They went so far as to construct a new line working day and night, which is so vital that it’s still in use today.
