I was really happy, when I got to grad school, to find a host of women astronomers. I think that astronomy (and physics, and most STEM fields) still has a long way to go dealing with both sexism and racism, but my career was shaped by awesome women. My PhD advisor is a woman. One of my close research allies (and my personal hero) is a woman. Down the hall from my PhD advisor is a woman who just won the Nobel Prize! My current boss is the founding mother of infrared astronomy! I'm also really happy that as of a few months ago, I started working with a female graduate student. Even if I'm just a cishet dude, I can at least help pass on what I've learned (and am continuing to learn) from brilliant women.
