PODCAST: Kevin Carson explains libertarian socialism

Thanks for responding. Do you guys disclose where your funding comes from? Also is there something that indicates the history of your organization like who founded it?

I see it says "C4SS is closely affiliated with the Molinari Institute and is covered by its 501c3 status." Sounds like a very close connection.

The director of the Molinari Institute is listed as Roderick T. Long. According to wikipedia he is also a senior scholar for the Ludwig von Mises Institute and an editor of the Journal of Ayn Rand Studies.

It really seems like you're trying to downplay your organization's connections to these right wing libertarian ideas.

I'm also looking at the view presented here in this post titled "Why does C4SS seem like an ancap front group?"

https://www.reddit.com/r/Anarchy101/comments/521wo2/why_does_c4ss_seem_like_an_ancap_front_group/

I understand your website presents a diversity of views, but in my opinion it's really not as diverse as your making it out to be and there isn't too much socialism to be found in the site.

In fact your site defines socialism as "SOCIALISM: The attempted abolition of all privilege by restoring power entirely to the coercive agent behind privilege, the State, thereby converting capitalist oligarchy into Statist monopoly. Whitewashing a wall by painting it black."

That shows a really hostile and intellectually dishonest attitude toward socialism. Really the core of the socialist idea is democratic control of the major institutions and common resources.

And then you guys define anarchism as "ANARCHISM: That organization of society in which the Free Market operates freely, without taxes, usury, landlordism, tariffs, or other forms of coercion or privilege."

I understand there is such a thing as market socialism, but I feel like you guys are really taking it to an extreme to the point where it's like fetishizing the idea of free markets, even capitalizing it similar to the way religious people capitalize the word God.

Then if you look over on the page titled Are market anarchists for or against capitalism?, you can find this:

Are market anarchists for or against capitalism?

Market anarchists have adopted different labels and bodies of rhetoric to explain their views to a general public that can have passionate views associated with the words “capitalism” and “socialism.” No matter whether one calls oneself a “socialist” or a “capitalist,” there will be a segment of the public that assumes the market anarchist supports an unjust status quo they oppose...

OK so they adopt different labels to try to appeal to different groups of people.

I actually agree with a lot of stuff on your site but obviously not all of it.
